    Responsibilities

    As XLH increases our product line of hybrid electric powertrains for multiple commercial vehicle chasses, we are seeking to add a team member to perform and train various aspects of installation through our growing network of North American installation partnerships. Our current installation partners operate over 25 facilities in the United States and Canada. We project additional facilities being on-boarded to reach a combined throughput of these facilities in excess of 250+ installations per month. This employee will leverage interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as technical acumen and mastery of XL Hybrids’ technology, to successfully perform installs while training and auditing our partners’ technicians. Employee would report to the Company’s Partner Operations Manager.

    Qualifications

    Production

    • Work with National Production Manager to schedule XL Hybrids production activities across North America
    • Master the operation/specifications/installation steps of all XLH electric drive powertrains to perform hybrid powertrain installations
    • Perform hands-on and remote training to certify partner installation technicians, refresh their currency, or cross-train between different vehicle platforms, in accordance with XL’s Installer Certification Program
    • Follow all safety-related processes to help ensure the health and well-being of our partners’ installation technicians
    • Ensure XL achieves per-installation goals without need for on-site supervision of 1) installation times within standard hours per vehicle, 2) minimal installation errors, 3) maintaining a track record of installer safety, and 4) unpacking of installation kits
    • Actively seek and report feedback from the field on all aspects of the installation process to ensure continuous improvement
    • Perform periodic audits at installer locations to ensure procedures and reporting are being followed accurately
    • Become proficient in using both XL Hybrids inventory management system (Fishbowl), and our proprietary back-end engineering vehicle tracking database (XLerator)
    • Support inventory activities, as well as reverse logistics of defective components from installer locations

    Upfitter Relationship Management

    • Keep upfitters abreast of XL Hybrids’ evolving product line, and product development pipeline to identify opportunities for sales

     

    Required Skills/Qualifications:

    • A team player who can contribute in cross-functional ways
    • Proficient understanding of hybrid electric powertrains, and their componentry
    • A track record of success training others to perform highly technical-related activities such as sales/engineering/manufacturing/assembly/installation-related tasks
    • Capacity to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical information
    • Demonstrated professionalism (e.g., cooperation, courtesy, assertiveness, and non-defensiveness, accepting constructive criticism, and maintaining confidence)
    • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations (resolving conflicts and meeting deadlines)
    • Ability to travel domestically approximately 50-75% of the time with primary office at XLH Quincy, IL office

     

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

    • Automotive dealership technician experience
    • Hands-on experience with automotive electrical diagnostic and engine computer software tools
